User Accounts

Top  Previous  Next

Your center administrator creates and manages user accounts.

Logging on:  Your IT group should have placed a shortcut to Titanium on your work station desktop, or provided you with the file path to the executable.  To log in, double click on the short cut, and enter the user name and password provided by your center administrators.

Password:  Your center administrator created an initial password for your account.  You will be prompted to change the password after the first time that you log in.  By default, passwords must be at least 15 characters.  Your center administrator may have chosen a different length and complexity requirements.

User Permissions: If you are unable to complete work tasks because you do not have sufficient permissions, contact your center administrator to request changes.

Password reset:  If you cannot remember your password, contact a center administrator.  Titanium Software cannot assist you with password resets.

Locked account:  By default, if you are not able to log into Titanium after 9 attempts, your account will be locked.  By default, the account will remain locked for 20 minutes from your last attempt.  Contact a center administrator to request that your account be unlocked sooner.  Titanium Software cannot assist you with unlocking your account.

Single Sign On:  Your center administrator may have chosen to activate single sign on.  The options for the feature are:

1.  Single sign on:  Users will authenticate into the university network one time.  Then when they double click on the Titanium icon in the future, they will automatically be logged in.

2.  Single sign on or local authentication:  On the Titanium log in screen, users will choose whether to authenticate into the university network, or log into Titanium directly with a Titanium user name and password issued by a center administrator.

3.  Single sign on and local authentication: Users have to authenticate into the university network first, and then log into Titanium with a Titanium user name and password issued by a center administrator.

If your center administrator has activated and chosen options 1 or 3, when you double click to launch Titanium, your work station will launch a web browser or window.  You should authenticate into your University network account, including completing multi-factor authentication, if required.  After completing authentication, browser or window will close.   If your administrator chosen option 3, you will then have to enter your Titanium user name and password.

If your center administrator chose option 2, the log in screen will be a pull down menu.  You can select to either use single sign on or enter your Titanium user name and password.

If you are using single sign on as your only authentication method, after authenticating once, when  you double click to launch Titanium in the future, you should be logged in without having to do anything else.  Depending on the settings chosen by your IT team, you may have to re-authenticate on a periodic basis.  If you log in from a different work station or get a new work station, you will have to authenticate again to use single sign on.  If your network account log in changes, notify your center administrator so that your credentials can be updated inside Titanium.

If you are logging into a multi-department installation and have clicked to select a default department, you will be logged into that department with single sign on.  If you have not selected a default department, you will use the pull down menu to select a department before being logged in automatically.

If you have selected a default department and need to switch to the other department or the Manage Departments area, press and hold the CTRL and then double click to launch Titanium.  That will load the regular log in screen so you can switch departments.
