How and where is Titanium Schedule normally installed on a network?

There are three parts to Titanium Schedule:

Data: The data is stored in SQL Server or SQL Server Express. SQL Server is normally installed on your network file server or possibly a separate computer dedicated to SQL Server. Titanium Schedule does not require its own dedicated server.
Program: The Titanium Schedule application files are stored in a shared network folder. This folder is often named "\Titanium Schedule" and is usually located on your network file server. This folder contains Ti9.exe, which is the program used to start Titanium Schedule.
Workstations: Each workstation must run a setup program to install the runtime support files required by Titanium Schedule. This setup program is SetupWorkstation90SP1a.exe. This setup file is in the application folder and on the install CD.

Note: All portions of Titanium Schdule will operate in a virtual server environment without issue.

How do I determine what version of Titanium Schedule I have?

Start Titanium Schedule, select the Help menu, then select the Version Information option. The first line of the screen will show the application version date. In older versions of the software, this information is available by selecting Help, then About Titanium Schedule.

How do I determine the application folder?

Start Titanium Schedule, select the Help menu, then seect the Version Information option. The second line of the screen will show the application folder.

How do I setup a new workstation to run Titanium Schedule?

Install the runtime support files by running SetupWorkstation90SP1a.exe, which is located in your application folder. Then, create a shortcut to the Ti9.exe file in the application folder.

Do I have to run the patches and updates on every workstation?

Normally, you do not have to run the patch on every workstation. In most cases, you will just run the patch once. Most patches just update the files in the application folder, and there is only one application folder that is shared by everyone. The only exception to this is the rare occasion when the runtime support library has been updated. In that situation, there will be additional instructions with the patch specifying that some files, like SetupWorkstation90SP1a.exe, need to be run on every workstation.

Do the workstation setup/runtime support files ever need to be installed on the file server?

If the file server is ever used as a workstation to run Titanium Schedule, then, yes. If the file server is not used as a workstation, which is the most common approach, then, no, there is no reason to install the runtime support files on the file server.

In the application folder, there are several files with the name Ti9??.APP. Are they all necessary?

These are the application files. Only the last one, in alphabetical order, is currently used. The other ones are left from previous patches. For example, if you have Ti9HA.APP, Ti9HB.APP, and Ti9HC.APP, then you can safely delete Ti9HA.APP and Ti9HB.APP, because only the Ti9HC.APP file is used.
